ANTONIA was born to Mark Antony and Octavia on January 31, 36 BC. She
married Nero Claudius Drusus and had three children, Claudius, Germanicus,
and Livilla. Her popular husband died in 9 BC and she never remarried.
Germanicus died mysteriously in 19 AD, but his son Caligula became Augustus
in 37. Claudius became Augustus in 41. Livilla was implicated in poisoning
of her husband, Tiberius' son Drusus, and starved to death, probably
on the order of Antonia. Antonia was given the title of Augusta by Caligula
in March, 37, but died on May 1, 37, highly renowned for her many virtues.
