23-.jpgLot # 2371 viewsWarthog Jim 6 - modern Chinese copy of 1878 pattern dollar. This coin was made for tourists. I got it at a flea market in Qiqihar P.R. China. These coins are sold to tourists (like me) as real. Of course, anyone that knows a bit about coins will not be cheated. But it happens. $1 STARTWarthog

04-F-2.jpglot # 465 viewsWarthog 1 -START $ 10- This is another one that hurts! Lucky I don't have anything invested in it. I got it with other coins in a collection. In fact, I don't think that the Chinese guy even knew that it was bad. I was surprised that the Chinese would sell fake coins of this type. The police are really bad about "real" money being faked. This coin was very hard to tell from a real one. The size is correct and the weight is also correct. BUT it is too thick! When you put it next to a real one you can see that. Let's start this one at 10$. Warthog
