Gold Sovereigns were minted at Ottowa from 1911 to 1919. With a mintage of just 256,946, the 1911 is the most "common" of the Canadian series, as 1911 is at manymints due to it being the first year of issue for George V. To put that number in perspective, the next lowest mint production in 1911 was Sidney, Australia, which produced 2,519,000 sovereigns, nearly ten times the number minted at Ottawa. All told, in its nine years of issue, Ottawa produced only 582,913 sovereigns, making it by far the scarcest mint to find.
