Paul 3 - High grade silver denarius of Maximinus I (235-238 AD), also known as the "Thracian Giant" because he was reputed to be over six and a half feet tall. Great strike and details with some original luster remaining. Reverse is Fides standing holding two military standards with legend FIDES MILITVM. It's an ex Harlan Berk coin and still has his tag. (20 mm. & 3.33 grams, RIC, IV, 2, 7a). I bought this coin is June 2001. Time for a new home. Opening bid is $65.00. Payment is by PayPal, cash or personal check. He is also thought to have suffered from acromegaly - which makes facial features like the chin keep growing, as well as the long bones. The odd, monotheistic pharoah Akhenaten is also suspected to have had acromegaly, but since his mummy has never been found, it's a difficult theory to prove.
